there's always the option to collect the metadata manually by yourself if you dont think paying is worth it.

 I tried that once...what a pain in the arse... ;)

Other thread got locked, but It appears this might have been corrected. My V1 just downloaded the proper sized poster and backdrop (didn't two hours ago), so I'm going out on a limb and saying that the issue is dead.

Well, if I manually download it with v1, it doesn't, but if I let it populate the folder and backdrop on it's own, it downloads the large resolution versions..

Yeah, it's when you want to download other images. Rather have the option to but doesn't mean I'm willing to pay $20 for that option. Probably will look into Media Center Master

What do you mean? Because I said I would look into another app instead of paying for the newer version? I don't really need any of the new features so makes more sense to look at alternatives than to pay $20 just to get backdrops working again.

And now its $30! Wow, way to go guys.

Make a free program, make it popular by creating a user base and when you have enough of them, make it paid. Great strategy.

So now, users have no option but to forcefully upgrade as the minuscule (read thumbnail sized) images that metabrowser fetches now can no longer be used in a media center application.

But, it's your own product and its your choice.

Thanks, but not thanks. I'm a developer, I'll write my own app.

I'll simply paste here what I've said multiple times before.... Vishal obviously missed that when reading through the topic.

birkoff wrote:I suggest you read through this thread. The fact that TMDb has been updated is totally irrelevant to the fact that there is a new MetaBrowser v2.

MetaBrowser v1 is still available for free, but development on that version cannot be continued because the source code was lost due to a harddrive failure over 6 months ago. Fatal has decided to create a new and improved version that already has many new features and it's only fair that he made the decision to get some compensation for it.

There's no point in going through all this again. The discussion was finally over. Alternatively you can use Media Center Master or MetaBrowser v1 or another fetcher

I would ask that you please release it for free when you do (open source would be even better). There are apparently many users here that want easy to use, well developed, and fully supported applications for retrieving metadata, and pay nothing at all for it. When you get a functioning program that you need feedback on, I invite you to the Media Browser Community Tracker's Discussion section. I'll be patiently waiting to see what you come up with. Or, just post back with your website and support forums so we can leave feedback.

Thanks,
