I'm following this with interest and like they way it's heading.

I've just raised a bug about themes not accepting custom fonts for all items (Vanilla is the best behaved :) ), will all elements in this one be configurable?

This is very low on my list of priorities, if I have time before the next release to go through the code to check if all the fonts are customizable I will do so.

are you re-designing the details page for TV Shows (I mean the episode details page)?

I would love more info (and size) like the diamond theme, but with that classy Vanilla touch!

Of course I'm going to be tweaking it since the last time Vanilla was updated there was no episode detail page. Anyways I haven't worked too much on it but it will be fairly similar to the movie details page. Probably not as much info area as Diamond since Vanilla takes more of a minimalist approach, so as to enjoy the beautiful backdrops people make. Anyways the movie details page is closing in completion the current look is the following:

I haven't look too much and the music plugin yet, so I'm not sure how if it works in the same manner as MB since it's a plugin. By this I mean will the folders be identified as albums, artists, etc so I can tailor the views to better support any metadata that comes back.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't mean that you were to write sth dedicated for music plugin (but I would be very happy) but tried to ask if you planned to diplay eg. a list with long filenames, like it's now in diamond (though formatting is a little bit broken). Currently there is no view in vanilla which supports larger (let's say 10-15 items) file lists with long filenames - and that's the case of files in any album. The best I can now see it's coverflow with very large icon and only 1 filename seen at 1 time. Currently there is no option in MB to define any pattern for folder identyfication as album, artists... (sorry for my English but I hope you will know what I mean).

I wouldn't like Vanilla to go that way, because in case of displaying a couple of albums you would see covers and 80% of blank backdrop.
Backdrops have been and will always be defined by the user in Vanilla through the view menu system. You can choose to have them on/off for any view at any folder level.

Great and thanks!

The list view which can be seen further back in this post should show about 10-15 items depending on your resolution. The defining of patern is not visible to the user, its in the backend code, now I'm not sure if measures were put in place to define an Itemtype of let's say "Song" if the media file has an extension mp3, or "Album" if the folder contains item type of "Song", and "Artist" if the folder's children contain folder's of type "Album", etc....

What I meant by tailoring a view was not designing a whole new view for music but what information is displayed, for instance if you are in thumb view the information displayed is different if you are looking at a movie as compared to an episode. However the layout is generally the same, just the info is different. That is what I hope to accomplish if the the music itemtype are properly set I can change the info that is displayed based on whether it is an album,artist,song,etc... If this is not set and it is just set the generic folder, I won't be able to tailer the view and pretty much all you will get back is the Name of the folder or file.

Well like the video says December sometime, it will probably be checked in near the release date just in time for Christmas :D. I want time to fully test it before I check it in, to hopefully iron out most of the bugs before the release.

I like where this project is going. Very impressive.

I'm wondering if possible to scroll the movie up and down on the left side screen. For example, when cover flow is enable, you can only scroll left or right.
I would like to scroll through the movies with covers (cover flow) and be able to view the backdrops (at least the full height of the backdrop)
