Linksys DMA2100 Extender conection to Media Browser

Postby xalos68 » Sun Jan 04, 2009 12:19 am

I just installed a Linksys DMA2100 Extender. Everything is working properly except when trying to connect to the Media Browser (2.0.4.0). I'm able to see my TV recordings and movies via the VMC video link.

I get the following error when attempting to connect to the Media Browser:

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "c:\programdata\mediabrowser\cache\unique Names" is denied at System.I.O._Error.WinIOError(Int32errorCode, String mabe full)

Has anyone seen this error and how it was resolved.

Thanks.

I would suggest that the mcx# account the extender uses on your system does not have read/write rights to that folder. Have you tried giving that user rights? I would apply it to c:\program data\mediabrowser recursively.

Sorry I have never seen this error, but I have a DMA 2200 and it's awesome.
I have my computer with all my movies on it attached to another TV but yet I never watch it there anymore.

The extender lets me watch my collection anywhere I want, all I need a 2 plugs. 1 for the Tv ad 1 for the extender. Awesome gadet. now only if they get 5.1 to work for .avi's I'm in heaven.

BTW - MediaBrowser ROCKS !!!! The backdrop images is the coolest thing !!!!

Now only if you could make the entire screen the backdrop image, vs just the block it currently is that would be awesome.
