That is because you have those entry points (in your registry) in multiple locations. e.g. you have it in the Start menu strip "Media browser" and you have it in another strip called "My TV" or whatever.

I might suppress this message, but basically the configurator will allow you to modify one of the 2 duplicate entry points.

I will change the warning message to show all the places your entrypoints are located to help.

Try r1286. Let me know what the error message says now.

Should be r1286 NOT r1285. Made an important change.

So the latest code should be ready for testing for both Vista and 7. The configurator now allows you to add entrypoints into custom Menu strips in Media center. See below.

As of now, you have to create your own Menu strips (see http://www.hack7mc.com/2009/04/replace-default-movie-strip-with-media-browser-strip.html), I might implement this later.

as of r1294, you can now have direct access to MB plugins from the Media Center Start menu.

Please test! If no one tests this version, it will never get put into production.

Is there any way to make the entry point for a plug-in without downloading this branch? Reason I'm asking is because I have yet to have a successul install on any other system other than my dedicated HTPC, and I really don't want to have to start from scratch with it(I've had numerous problems installing the same version on other HTPCs).

I'm asking because of the upcoming Music Browser plug-in, I'd like for it to work from the start-menu.

I just wanted to say that I am really excited about the work you're doing here. Do you have any idea how long it will be before a version is released that doesn't need to be compiled by the user? Any thoughts on the direction of this... is it gonna be released as a plugin, on a release from the mb team, or released as a seperate branch? I think that many of the users who can't understand a need for this will if and when they start using the music browser as it becomes available. I for one would love to have an entry point in the music strip for all my music dvd's as well as an entry point in the tv strip that goes straight to tv episodes. Great work!

Sorry no, you would have to install this branch of MB to get the multiple entry points.

If it was to be released it would be part of the main MB branch, and it cannot be a plugin. As for a timeline, I don't know. There are still some features I would like to add, plus I need to do some testing. The earliest I see it being is after the music plugin goes live.

Hello Cambelious,

Great work. One question..Is it possible to assign one entry point to execute a script/program. I would like to have have one entry point to execute a script to wake up (send WOL command) my file server (that has movies and vidoes) and another entry point to execute a script to standby (send standby command) my file servers.

My file server currently is set to wake on activity and this causes it to resume from standby every now and then randomly. I would like to set my file server to wake on magic packet. They use some kind of script to wake it up before running Media Browser.

The current implementation of mediabrowser assumes media being available all the time (local drive or network drive) and if my file server is sleeping, mediabrowser throws bunch of errors (could not connect to network drive etc...)

If I can run a script from one of the entry points then your development would be GODSEND to me.

Regards, Shaurya

This would have nothing to do with custom entry points. But I answered your question on http://www.mediabrowser.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=986&start=20#p21675
