Movies folder appears as a single movie

Movies folder appears as a single movie

Postby rwgunther » Sun Jul 05, 2009 12:42 pm

Since the 2.1 update, my Movies folder no longer shows up as a folder with contents, but as a single movie. It only seems to affect one particular physical folder--the folder with my movies in it. All the other folders are working fine. I've checked that I don't have any individual movie files in the root of the physical Movies folder, and it only contains other nested movie folders. I tried pointing this virtual folder to a different physical folder, and it works fine. When the virtual folder points to a physical folder that works fine AND my physical Movies folder, it also doesn't work correctly, but shows up as one movie.

I figured out what was causing the problem, and I suspect it's a bug in the 2.1 release. The one video that was appearing in the place of the movies folder was one of the few movies I had that was also in the specific movie folder as an WMV file. For example:

M:\MOVIES\VIDEO_NAME\AUDIO_TS\
M:\MOVIES\VIDEO_NAME\VIDEO_TS\
M:\MOVIES\VIDEO_NAME\VIDEO_NAME.WMV

It appears that Media Browser was finding the WMV, "bubbling" this up to the top level, and playing it instead of opening the Movies folder. When I removed the offending WMV, the same thing happened with another folder that contained a WMV. Eliminating that file, too, solved the problem. Now all my videos appear correctly in a top-level Movies folder. Weird.

I have someting that looks like the same.
This appears since I updated to the last version (10minutes ago)

I have a folder with series:

x:\VIDEO\TV SERIES\Planet Earth\Season 1\s0101 - xxx.mkv
x:\VIDEO\TV SERIES\Planet Earth\Season 1\s0102 - xxx.mkv
x:\VIDEO\TV SERIES\Planet Earth\Season 1\s0103 - xxx.mkv
.........

Media Browser now play directly only the first one. Without showing all the episodes?

Do somebody have a solution?

I think your naming format (s0101) may not be recognised. Try changing to s01e01 or 1x01.

I don't have any problems with my TV shows, including Planet Earth. However, I used Meta Browser to download the data and images for each episode.

Is 'TV Series' one of your root folders on the home page, or is it 'Video'?

TV Series is one of my root folders on the home page.

When I select this on the homepage, MediaBrowser starts directly th first episode.

I used only MetaBrowser to collect the data and images for the films.
As far as I know MetaBrowser can not connect to http://thetvdb.com/ to collect series.

In the old version this setup worked. I will try a complete reinstall of MediaBrowser today or tommorow.

Meta Browser also processes TV shows.

Do you have a loose video file sitting in the root folder?

Another thought - is Planet Earth the only TV series you have in that folder, or do you have more?

You give the right clue!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had one serie in the folder with one season and two episode's.

Now I put in another serrie and now it is working.

But is this a bug now?

HI!

I also have a problem with the planet earth dvd episodes. In earlier versions, I added a folder called "Planet Earth", then a folder "season 1" and under that I added all episodes with correct namings. Then when I clicked "planet earth" in the poster view I arrived at the screen where all episodes show up with metadata.

Now in last version, I click "planet eart" in poster view, then I arrive at another screen that show only the poster for the dvd, and when I click that I get to the screen where I can select the episodes, but they don't have metadata anymore, only the blue annoying default picture!

How can we solve this???
