Hi,

I am currently using Metabrowser which I love but thought I would try your app due to the automatic grabbing of ratings.

I cannot get it to successully complete a scan however and it always errors with the following error.

This is odd -- Media Center Master has full error/exception handling, so this is quite odd to see during movie processing. I tried to process the same movie and didn't experience any problems.

Here are some things you can try:

  1. Start Media Center Master as an Administrator.
  2. Right-click on the title and clear out existing meta data

If neither help, please send me the contents of your configuration file and the contents of your existing mymovies.xml file for that movie (through private message at the official Media Center Master forums or by e-mail).

Hi Peter,

This did not work, but the good news is the new release did! Great stuff.

I was wondering if it was possible to add some of the features metabrowser already has;

1) I use a program called SABNZBD to download my films, this program automatically adds my movies to the Movies folder using the Newzbin post title, for example Ghostbusters II (1981), I would appreciate it if Meta Master could work with the way SABNZBD unpacks and adds the movies into the folder, so that the process from download to unpack, to metadata grab was fully automated (As in metabrowser). See the Metabrowser forum for posts on the SABNZBD funtionality, I must admit not trying it yet, so it may even already work?

2) Have we any documentation on the TV functionality, how it moves the files etc, does it use a dropbox like Metabrowser?

3) I use folder.png's, and it would be great if the program could be made to recognise these and not download a .jpg if one is present, or have an option to that effect...

4) Folder AND file renaming if possible as this really cleans up the whole collection. How does Media Master deal with folder / file renames using autoscan, sometimes my large MKV files take a few minutes to fully transfer to my movies folder, will it have a retry time to keep retrying the folder / file rename?

Mark

P.S. Also get this when processing any TV series... and it seems to re-download my folder / backdrop.jpg's even if they already exisit and the option to ignore is selected?

These are all good ideas, Mark!

It would probably benefit the Media Center Master user community more if you were to share your ideas with the rest of the group at the official forum -- I'm not sure that there's a lot of follow-up done here in this one thread. Would you mind posting your thoughts over at the official Media Center Master forums? Maybe even a separate thread for each idea/bug so other users can find out if their request/bug is in the works or what its status is.

Thanks!

(also: I just plain don't make it over to this thread very often -- only every few days or so, versus my forums that I'm at several times per day)

For everyone's benefit: Media Center Master now supports programmable plugins to fetch movie titles, and I've posted the source code to the Open Movie database fetcher plugin (tMDB / themoviedb.org) in both C# and VB.Net so anyone can make their own plugins. Due to excessive demand for foreign language support, support for animé titles, obscure independent titles, etc., I felt this was the best way to go to satisfy everyone's needs.

Since the new 2.1 now supports multiple backgrounds, can you make it so that MCM downloads all the backgrounds available and number them accordingly: background.jpg, background1.jpg, background2.jpg, etc?

An upcoming release of Media Center Master will support this.

See this post for details.

Cheers!

Some of my movies show up as Adult. I don't know why. How can I change this?

I've managed to get around this so far by forcing Movie mode, but I would like the movie to show up as 'movie' and not 'adult'.

Thanks.

Titles that are non-TV series and that meet one or more of the following criteria will show up as "Adult" instead of "Movie". Change the meta accordingly to forcefully switch it from one type of detected media to another:

(1) Includes one or more of the following genres:
adult, mature, x, xxx, x rated, x-rated, porn, porno, pornographic, all sex, sex

(2) The MPAA content rating is one of the following:
adult, mature, x, xxx, x rated, x-rated, nc17, nc-17, sex

If any of the conditions above are met, Media Center Master will detect the media as an Adult film (not necessarily pornographic, but not something children are meant to watch).

.... ALSO ....

If a scan folder includes other Adult films, and its meta data is missing (example: you have a scan folder of 10 titles and 6 have meta data indicating adult content and 4 do not) then it will be identified as Adult as well. Move mixed content to their own scan folders.
