Metabrowser XBMC

Metabrowser XBMC

Postby Dallasf » Thu Nov 05, 2009 2:06 am

Hi,

Does metabrowser work with XBMC?

Is it the same MYMOVIES.XML, FOLDER.JPG, BACKDROP.JPG?

Thanks

Should be pretty much universal. If Xbmc uses backdrop.jpg and folder.jpg as well you should be fine

I don't know how xbmc does it's metadata and/or if it even stores metadata along with it's media files...can you give me some examples of the metadata naming/structure and folder/backdrop names?

Its quite interesting actually, they call them scrapers (metabrowser). Folder.jpg works but their backdrops are fanrt.jpg and they use nfo files for media content. So metabrowser works in a way but not the same.

XBMC is really good i'd say better than MCE but its quite difficult to get going after been a long term user of MCE.

I can help with that but first let me say, your work is amazing. I have tried to find alternatives as I as well use XBMC but I cannot find a better solution than yours. There isn't one, your work is awesome. But to answer your question:

Video Folder structures:

NFO structures:

Hope this helps and I look forward to the next version of Meta Browser!

Any word if NFO files are going to make the cut in the next release?

If I could use metabrowser with XBMC then I would definitely try XBMC out....

This would be a great feature.

I'd certainly be delighted if MetaBrowser was able to store data in the NFO format used by XBMC.

Any update on this?

I would LOVE to use Metabrowser with XBMC.

EDIT: Is Metabrowser open source? If so, where is the SVN? I might be interested in trying to hack in NFO support...
