Hi
I've posted this on a reply elsewhere in the forum but it's really a question in it's own right...
Is it possible to have Media Browser show both a Series info and then also a Season info when in Poster view?
So, my set up is:
FOLDER: BlackAdder
-----> series.xml
-----> folder.jpg
-----> banner.jpg
-----> FOLDER: Season 01
------------> series.xml
------------> folder.jpg
------------> S01E01 - The Foretelling.avi
------------> S01E02 - Born To Be King.avi
------------> FOLDER: metadata
-----> FOLDER: Season 02
etc......
With the above set up, in Media Browser I can correctly see information about the whole series when I am at the main BlackAdder folder level in VMC.
If I then select BlackAdder and am at the Season view stage, I highlight one of the seasons but I can't see the corresponding Season (or series.xml) info from that particular Season. Instead I see a list of Episodes displayed under the Poster image. Also, the sub-folders are labelled 'Season 01' in Media Browser.
If I rename the 'Season 01' folders to 'Series 01' and clear cache etc. I have the opposite occuring. At BlackAdder folder level I get no Series info (just a list of Season's underneath the Poster image). This I can understand due to the logic employed in the code (no sub-folders called 'Season....' and no episode files called SxxExx.avi. But having the sub-folder called 'Series ...' allows me to see Season info when highlighting a Season. AND the seasons are picking up the Season title from the sub-folders series.xml file so instead of 'Season 01' I can see something like '1 - BlackAdder I', '2 - BlackAdder II'....
Maybe this is how Media Browser is set up to work? But it would be good to be able to see bother Series overview info at Series level and Season overview info as Season level. It seems at the moment it's on or the other! Assume it's something to do with the way Media Browser deals with Series/Season hierarchy? Also, it seems TVDB does not contain Season overview info (a bit of a failing really) - so that's maybe why Media Browser doesn't work the way I hoped/assumed?
I'd appreciate confirmation on the above and then I can at least give up trying to get it to work! :-)
Thanks very much
WoB
