have been using mp3tag to sort it all, also does the extraction of artwork in bulk which is ok, apart from with such a large library there is alot to check and standardise...

So this plugin for Media Browser will still rely on WMP to database your music correct?

Im having an issue with WMP 12 running out of memory when trying to add a large collection (roughly 5000 CD's).

There is a workaround for the running out of memory problem. Can't remember where I had seen it at(I frequent quite a few VMC related forums) but here it goes.

When adding your music to WMP have the Windows Task Manager up, and monitor the memory usage. When the usage starts getting high end process and then restart. I know its a pain but it allows it to keep the information found and then you can restart from where it left off.

Its not the best workaround...but it works.

And as far as WMP being used to database the music, I don't think its WMP so much as MediaBrowser. It uses the default WMP player to play the music, but MB is where it is databased. I'm not on my HTPC right now but when I get a chance I'll check, I don't believe VMC is even setup to scan my music folders, but it is all visible to MB.

Yeah not to sure what you mean but i am willing to go with jcalton on this one ... he seems to know his business :) MB sees your music as folders and caches it. The caching seems solid as long as your machine stays online.

Yeah Im aware of the "watch your task manager" work around for this issue, but we are talking 70000 songs, thats a lot of time devoted to watching the task manager

If this plugin works with Media Browser and creates its own cache/database then that might be a better alternative to using WMP12's database.

So RELEASE this thing already ;)

Can't help with the computer..although I'm sure if they can wire into your car a few modifications and it will wire into your computer..

BUT, I do know there are some apps for some cell phones, the iPhone being one for sure, that works like a breathlyzer. You set it when you know you'll be drinking and it blocks calls to numbers you wouldn't want to call when drunk.

I'll check my laptop when I get home and make sure, but I'm almost positive it creates its own cache.

Well, learned my lesson. Was trying a few of the apps out there to reorganize my music, and it totally screwed it all up. Thats kinda hard to imagine considering it was all screwed up to begin with...but now all of my album art is in my photos, all of my mp3's are in like..4 different locations, no albums are together anymore...

Guess I should have just done it by hand like I was planning on, instead of trying to make it easier on myself, now its going to take forever.

@CraigT, it'll be a few days before I can do anymore testing, but it was working great. Once I get my music back in order, I'll really be putting it to the test because I'll be redownloading ALL of my images, instead of just filling in. That feature we discussed to automatically download the covers would come in handy soon, :-).

@ Neph, Program is still working good. Its handling my music fine, saw some of your uservoices to sam, looks like a good idea.

Ok I am so glad this is getting closer to being reality, my question is will my itunes protected tracks still play as they when i am in normal music library using proxure's MCEtunes pro apllication? there is also an AMD Live! (read co-branded) version that does the same in VMC/7MC. if the answer is why wouldn't it, or of course it does then sam is guaranteed to get my green nad i'd pay extra for this plugin - people already stand with their jaws dropped at my lounge room setup and this is the cream on the cake - although the ability to add live feeds from radio stations playing .wma or realplayer would probably be descibed as the cherry.

Cheers
