Is there a possibility that Starkcovers creates folder.jpg files or is there a simple batch to create so I can rename all the folder.png files to folder.jpg

It is really looking great and I'm looking forward to the MB version with music browser included!

No stark wont put out jpg, you could use photo shop to batch convert, but why not just use the app I showed just to set the Stark images to the id3's and yours for what ever else.

You don't need to add the images to the mp3s, as win7 now fully supports the folder.jpg located along w/ your mp3s (unlike vista here it would only link it to the first track and you needed to use UrlToCoverArt to link it to your other mp3s)....I like not having any images stored with the mp3, just a folder.jpg in the folder.

You said it right there, Stark puts out a png so MC was showing nothing. I added the png images to the id3 and now I can see them in MC.

I misunderstood. I thougt I had to do every folder apart and that way Tag&Rename is more handy but I see now by just selecting all the mp3 files and just typing folder.png my whole collection gets the right folder.png.

Thanks and yes this is way faster.

Right, but you can just rename the folder.png to folder.jpg and it will work fine, renaming it won't lose any transparency of the png....

this is awesome - although i dont use win7 "music" as there is a serious memory leak in wmp12 and it craps out on my music collection.

I am hoping the new plugin has a better database and doesnt crap out ehheeh.

Mind you it looks fantastic!

I do not use the home screen and go straight into the diamond view that has all of my config items (Movies, New Releases, PIxar etc).

Would i be correct in assuming I can just add a directory into the config called "music" and this will go straight to the plugin (if it has music in it?)

Sort of like the Itunes Trailer adds "trailers" icon.

Is that how it would work?

Yup, just like that. But you will need to be running the current SVN build in order for MB Music to be included.

Thanks for the response - awesome - I will wait for it to come out as a proper build - but I enjoy getting sneak previews - looks very good!

Actually re- the waterfall.

For the waterfall to work my understanding is that it takes the art from the window media library database.

If we are using the new plugin - this will have its own database and therefore when you play through this - I assume you will NOT get the waterfall.

thoughts..am i right in this thinking?

I would much prefer music in the new plugin database and not in wmp db and certainly i wouldnt want to populate both.

No the plugin just lets you browse your collection and then opens it with Media Centers default music player.
So anything done is stilled cashed by media center, media browser is going to cache any new images as well, but it cant be helped. It needs to be cached in both places.

Thats ok - it can cache all it wants - my concern is the wmplibrary....db file.

That being the case I still dont beleive that the waterfall will work (btw I dont use it) as there will be nothing in the wmplibrary.db file.

Its a case of where does the waterfall pull its info from and I believe the wmplibrary file (but I could be wrong!)

Caching and putting in a database are two diff functions in my mind (especially if you turn off "add played content to library" << which I do.

I would like the waterfall feature - but not using the wmplibrary.db

see here..

has a bit of info about it :-)

BTW demonseed - i saw your setup over on the starkforum - it looks great!
