Not sure on the queuing, but the plug-in does not yet support ID3 tags

however, I'm having these two issues. sorry if this have been asked before.
1. How do I queue music in MusicBrowser?
2. The Music (mp3 files) are not showing the id3 tags.

Hi baz999, you talking about music browser or about the plugin for mediabrowser? Because they are two different things. To queue you can push play on a folder or file and select queue. ID3 are not read from the file. that will eventually come.

Thanks, I was refering to the plugin for MediaBrower. i'll test the queue when I'm back home. Is there any other way to display picture for the mp3 files.

Yes, non standard MC remote - some brought that up and we still need to deal with it :( on a MB level, the plugin for now does not have the "power" to deal with it.

ya you could manually build xml (same as tv series) and point the image at the folder image

craigt wrote:Well.. some big reasons for adding it to mb are...

1. Take advantage of of the different views and themes.
2. better virtual folder managment.
3. Organise music by folder instead of tags.
4. Not having to leave MB to listen to music.
5. possibly take advantage to MB caching system.
6. add better/easier playlist support
7. add any features functionality that could be helpfull.

If the current music system works for you then great, It doesn't work for me, thats why this will be a nice feature for me.

As for the id3 tags... at some point, once one or two other things have been done, I'm sure we could make it use the info from the id3 tags.. dont think it will be too much of a mission.

I totally agree that, when the Music plug-in is done, it'll be great not to have to leave the MediaBrowser "environment" to play music; I set up a HTPC for my friend, and set it up so that when Windows starts up, it auto-starts in MediaBrowser in WMC7 (by passing the parameters to ehome, as somebody posted elsewhere). But with the current Music capabilities (at least, as of a month ago when I set it up for him) of MB being incomplete, I didn't add it in the MB configurator, and showed him how to "green-button" to WMC7 home, then go to music.

So one thing I'm wondering is whether we could add an option to MB to either use MB's music plug-in, or to show the "Music" link (along the bottom where it normally shows up, between movies, and trailers and TV) that jumps you directly to WMC7's built-in music library?

I suppose I should download the source and implement this myself if I find time, or if the "Music" plug-in is going to be done soon maybe it's not worth it anyway.

Oh - another question - I ripped all my CDs using WMC7's music library, so all the CD cover-art shows up there (I love the "wall" view), but in MB's music area, only maybe 50% of the albums show cover art, and I can only play music by picking a playlist (when I click on an album, it doesn't show anything - maybe because they're all ripped to lossless WMV files? Or the folder-structure used by WMC7 isn't compatible? Or am I just being dense?)

Having not being able to compile this I have a simple question.

I do not use the home screen and go straight into the diamond view that has all of my config items (Movies, New Releases, PIxar etc).

Would i be correct in assuming I can just add a directory into the config called "music" and this will go straight to the plugin (if it has music in it?)

Sort of like the Itunes Trailer adds "trailers" icon.

Is that how it would work?

Yup, just like that. But you will need to be running the current SVN build in order for MB Music to be included.
