Its nearly complete, just two more small features to add and some bugs to fix then I'm done with it for now. After that I will be moving over to a metadata grabber for the music. (maybe I can incorporate it into the same app?? not sure.). for now, Im going to assume that music will be arranged in one of two ways...

[driverletter]:\[WhereEverYourMusicIs]\artist\album\ * 01 *.*
[driverletter]:\[WhereEverYourMusicIs]\artist - album\ * 01 *.*

is that fair? or do you guys use something totally different?

Does anyone know of a program (freeware or shareware) that will read id3 tags and place all of your files in folders based on that structure?

Hehe, I know neph has been playing around with Id3 tags. I'm sure if you ask nice he'll be able to whip something up and post it :)

Else, if he's not keen, I'll play around with it for a bit...

Have you considered adding multiple locations i.e

C:\music
E:\my new music
F:\old music

I dont use that structure - but many people split their music - basically multiple directories (as MB does allow this)

ID3-TagIT 3 will do what you ask
but it will crash on large collections
I split mine in 50 album chunks and did it

I dont know of anything that does that, having said that i dont trust programs like that. If you want i can "whip" something up that will give you a before and after view of the structure and on go will rename it ... i did something similar for series programs but it is for personal use, no bells and whistles. Just hit GO and it is done ... PM me.

mediamonkey will do. Currently I'm playing with it and I'm quite happy.

I currenlty build a new MB with MusicBrowser plugin and I'm loving it.
however, I'm having these two issues. sorry if this have been asked before.
1. How do I queue music in MusicBrowser?
2. The Music (mp3 files) are not showing the id3 tags.
