A question to devs (soultaker ?)

This application was designed to do this for collection folders. It does this because I like keeping my collection folders in my Genre view, you can turn this off by unchecking the "Keep Collection/Containers folders" option.

As for the target folder error, I'll have to look into this.

But the folders I am talking about are not collections, they are singular movies.

I based this application on the way I setup my folder structure for MediaBrowser. I'm sure that everybody has there own way of doing things.

Maybe you can post an example of the problem you are having, include the folder structure for the movie(s) and it's contents, I'll try to work it out for you.

Okay here are a couple of screenshots that should help explain what I mean. See how some of the movies have a folder created as well as a shortcut and inside that folder is another shortcut to the folder?

You may have misunderstood me, I need to see what the source folders look like that have the issue that you have described. The contents of the source folder "Adventures in Baby-Sitting" would be a good example to look at. I designed my application to consider any folder with a mymovie.xml file in it to be a movie folder.

THIS APP JUST DELETED ALL MY MOVIES! I stopped the app as something did not seem correct so everything from the letter S and on is still there. 8TB of movies gone. I did nothing more than add the directories and then where i wanted my shortcuts and hit the button. WTF ! Any ideas... I wonder what caused this ?

EPIC FAIL FOR THIS APP LOL.. I am going to try and recover as many as possible with my recovery tool. I was all excited about finally having my genres sorted out :( :( :twisted: :( :( :(

Important Note: make sure you DON’T save it on the same drive because there is a chance that it’ll overwrite it before you can completely recover the file.

I have used it for a long time now, and still do. How do you know it caused it? Did you tell it to create the shortcuts in the folder where your movies are? Maybe the app deletes the contents of the folders, not just the .lnk files.

I had entered my source folders and then for the links I entered a videos folder. I clicked create links button. Pretty straight forward stuff... I am positive that this is what caused it. I had just finished updating all my meta data before I ran the app. At that point all files were there and I was even viewing the folder
