Media Browser has become slow

Lately My Media Browser has become slower and slower. I haven't had any issues for months and months, but lately it has been getting worse until it took 225 seconds to refresh metadata for my movie folder. I only have 67 movies, so i don't think that is very big (maybe i am wrong).

I am running the latest version of MD, I have an 8GB flash drive and a shortcut for the program data. This has been the setup for quite a while. Running Win7 x64.

Last night, I finally cleared the cache and to to repopulate. It took about 15 minutes to be done. When i backed out and came back into MB, it took forever again, there appeared to be no change at all. My HTPC has been running like a top for months now, so nothing has been installed or removed. I have gone through the settings, does anyone have any idea where i might look to see what is causing the slowness. Currently it is basically unusable, so i have to resort to the original movie library and video library...
