this might be a dumb question but is there any chance that vanilla 2.0 will be a completely separate theme from vanilla 1.0? meaning, will there be 2 different vanilla themes eventually, or is this going to replace 1.0? i would love to have 2 vanillas but i dont know how realistic that is. sorry if it sounds outlandish.

I doubt very much that I will separate it into 1.0 and 2.0, I also don't really see what the point would be since vanilla 2.0 is using 1.0 as a base and changing what didn't work and what people didn't like. Was there something in particular you liked about 1.0 that is not in the 2.0 screens?

well, no not really, i really like 2.0 so far from what you have posted but i also really like 1.0 too. i guess the thing that makes me choose vanilla over diamond in the first place is the fact that vanilla concentrates on showing off the backdrops in more than diamond. it looks like that is still the case in 2.0 from what youve posted too though. and i laos just like to have more options.

Just a quick update with respect to the movie details and EHS (screens below). I know the movie details is missing some info I will be adding it so don't freak out. I just needed some help I was not thrilled with the glass look for the poster and actors and wondered if anyone had anything better that I could use.

Throg any chance of moving the play/trailer/refresh etc buttons so that if we have the overscan padding issue they are not cut off if the overscan needs to be adjusted. If the elements are -36 from the edge then the theme will be usable on both pc and extenders That is of course only if you cannot solve http://community.mediabrowser.tv/topics/666

Looking absolutley awesome tho man great work

edit: one other request if i could be so bold (-:
I notice the movie at the top (above the focus movie) is faded is there any chance the ones below could gradient from the focus to the faded (if that makes sense)

I'm not sure about moving it, right now I'm happy where it is but nothing is set in stone, as for the issue about extenders, I don't own one so it's not like I can do any testing of this issue all I can do is look through the code but it looks fine, I'm not sure why it happens to extenders and not to the PC perhaps it's an extender setting.

Well they are actually TV shows but... if you notice the fade is on the bottom as well right below 21 - The Plan you can see a sort of fade on the upcoming episode after that. I don't think you can have a different fade for the top and bottom.

ya not probs

only reason i suggested is because of the cuttoff. By move I only mean -35 so it doesnt get cutoff

Berilon has it on a pc it seems to be a 1080p thing

I know it might not seem like much but for me every pixel counts, anyways I will look at possibly moving it, but i'm unsure as of yet.

I just find it strange that it only happens on Vanilla and not diamond or even the default theme because it is all the same clipping code. Perhaps it's just not noticed on default because it uses the windows blue background and the poster also mentioned he couldn't get diamond to even load. So I'm not yet convinced it's even a Vanilla specific problem.

Just had a bit of a look at the trunk logs
Soultaker seems to have fixed it (for default and diamond) on the 3 june build 1160
Hope that helps

Haha, I think that's more cheating then fixing he sent the background beyond the screen margins with commands like this:

Code: Select all
<Graphic Name="MainBG" Content="image://i:Background" Margins="-50,-20,-50,-20" Layout="Fill"/>

So in essence people who have it working fine would lose a bit of the background off screen i.e 50 pixels left and right, 20 pixels top and bottom. Test it out look at the background carefully and switch between the two themes.
