I hate you!

Joking aside, this looks amazing man. I think this upgrade it going to crush my theme before it even gets its first breath... Hell, I'm ten to one going to use it instead of "chocolate". I'm going to have to put some serious effort in to keep up with this and diamond.

Love the idea of popup info, save my wife asking "what's that one about" every time and having to go to detail! Combination of ease of cover browsing with detail at fingertips.
I also like having the title and extra info at the bottom as I usually use vertical scroll and it's easier on the eye to be near where your scrolling rather than keep having to go to the top of the screen as in Diamond.

AMAZING!!!! I can't wait.. I've been flirting recently with Diamond (and to be fair also enjoying the progress on "Chocolate") but this makes me guilty for every looking at another theme besides Vanilla... keep it up and let us know whenever there's something new to update or show off!

I think the popup view might be a little redundant, as the detail screen would show the same info again, it's still the same number of clicks to view info/detail screen and back to navigating movies...but i guess i'ts a good option to have for the people that will use it

Is it possible for the list view to take up the entire height of the screen? There's empty space above and below the list view items? Is that done on purpose to show more of the backdrop?

I asked this before too, but a full WALL of movies with no wasted space, similar to the picture, i don't remember your answer :/ I think it was b/c of the now playing window...but maybe have this view available with a full wall but with NO now playing window so it's able to go edge to edge? Any maybe also need to set poster size to a constant for this view to allow for this?

I doubt it, when it's ready I will most likely commit it to trunk since there is no changes to the backend code thus it should be relatively safe.

I haven't really looked at chocolate too much other than some screens I saw, I know its based on vanilla but I wouldn't give up on chocolate until you at least play around with vanilla 2.0 because there will be a few views which will drastically change (specifically detail and thumb). And you may not like it, because it falls inline with my personal preferences and too each his own.

Yes and No because the detail screen is still optional at least for episodes and since my views will pretty much eliminate the summaries on the views you would need the popup info to get them. This is of course only for people who choose not to use the detail screen.

It is possible of course, my thinking here was to show more of the backdrop, I know a bunch of user complained before about only having like 4 or 5 items in list now its pretty much double that if not more. I may stretch it to the full height but i'm unsure as of yet.

Yah the reason why my view doesn't go to the top is due to the NPV, since there is no way to focus to that window if the poster scroller goes all the way to the top. Also it may be a little difficult with the custom poster sizes to get the effect, I know i can constrain them as you suggested but then people may complain how many lines of posters should there be.

I'd definitely make use of a popup detail feature.

The transitions have gone very clunky in the latest version and switching views isn't the smoothest activity. It would be especially useful for TV series where details page isn't used but if the viewer doesn't know what a series is about in a poster or coverflow view, they can pop it up. I don't want details on everything but the ability to bring up info without affecting the backdrop or view at a particular level would get used in my house :)

(And as for button, it would suit "info" which doesn't seem to activate anything else on mine.)

‘Info’ button is reserved for Media Center and not available for 3rd party applications.

display button would maybe work but i dont know if you can hook into it

You are correct which is why it will most likely be the * key. Yah Yah I know that's used for switching views but for me once the system is set up to my preference I rarely need to switch views I mainly only use it to show off media browser to friends. So the odd time I want to change my view I will go through the view menu to do it. Unless someone can write a piece of code that will allow us to hook onto the info button we are limited to the buttons we can use.
